As we face the pandemic, we know the quickest way back to a more normal way of life is through testing. That’s why Franey Medical Labs has acquired the cobas e 411analyzer through Roche Diagnostics to offer FDA EUA (Emergency Use Authorization) antibody testing.
This test detects antibodies that show if you have already been exposed to and produced an immune response to COVID-19—even if you never experienced symptoms. Once a correlation between the presence of antibodies and immunity is established, the results may be useful to your healthcare provider to determine your ability to return to work or other activities.
In order to qualify for antibody testing, the patient has to be COVID-19 symptom-free for a minimum of 10 days. Common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, headache, new loss of taste or smell. Please check the CDC website for more detailed information. The patient must also have a doctor’s order for the test.
